Therapy 

 

 

Therapy is a collaborative journey that helps us explore and resolve emotional, behavioural, or psychological challenges. In my practice, I offer both Integrative and pure approaches, depending on the unique needs of each client. Whether combining multiple therapeutic techniques or focusing on one method, my goal is to tailor the treatment to what will be most beneficial for you.
 

The process begins with a free zoom consulation (10-15 mins) to see if we are a good fit.  A comprehensive psychological assessment during the first two sessions, where I use psychometric measures (standardised questionnairres) to create a detailed map of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviour and physical wellness if appropriate. Together, we will identify the core difficulties and design a treatment plan that aligns with your goals. I maintain a transparent approach, always explaining why I use specific methods and how they contribute to your healing.  I welcome questions and am open when things are not working and we may need to refer you to someone else. 

 

 We will review progress halfway through the therapy and again at the end, ensuring that we stay aligned with your needs.
 

Here are the key approaches I have had training in and am informed by in my work:
 

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): A structured, goal-oriented therapy that helps you change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours, particularly effective for anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, addictions and stress.
  
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR): A trauma-focused therapy that helps process distressing memories and reduce their emotional impact, ideal for PTSD and trauma recovery. This can be used in complex PTSD, for pain management and for entrenched negative thinking.

 

Somatic Experiencing (SE): A body-based approach that helps release stored trauma from the body and promotes emotional and physical healing.
 

Internal Family Systems (IFS): This therapy works by exploring and healing different parts of yourself, creating inner harmony and self-awareness.
 

Schema-Focused Therapy (SFT): Best for addressing deep-rooted emotional and relational issues. SFT helps you understand and change patterns that were developed early in life.
 

Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT): A blend of cognitive and psychodynamic approaches, CAT helps you explore how past experiences shape current behaviours and relationships.
 

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): ACT helps you accept difficult emotions while focusing on actions aligned with your values, making it highly effective for managing anxiety, depression, chronic illness, grief, and stress.
 

Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT): This therapy helps you develop self-compassion and is particularly useful for those who struggle with self-criticism or shame.
 

Clinical Hypnotherapy (CH): A powerful tool to access the subconscious mind, often used to address anxiety, phobias, habit change and trauma.
 

Transactional Analysis (TA) Psychotherapy: TA is a psychotherapy model that examines how childhood experiences influence adult communication and behavior, helping improve relational dynamics.  This is a great approach with couples, families and team dynamics.

 

Motivational Interviewing (MI) : This technique helps resolve ambivalence and build motivation, making it especially useful for addiction, behaviour change, and decision-making
 

Trauma Incident Reduction (TIR): A structured approach that supports the resolution of traumatic memories by helping individuals revisit and reprocess difficult experiences.

 

Play Therapy (PT): An approach that uses play as a medium to help children express their emotions, explore their experiences, and process difficult situations in a safe and supportive environment. Since children may not always have the words to articulate their feelings, play provides a natural and comfortable way for them to communicate what they are going through.

I offer therapy online or face-to-face in Sevenoaks and Longfield, there is an option to work at a client’s home by prior arrangement (with additional fees).

Group Programmes 

 

 

Many clients choose to transition from therapy to coaching as they move forward, which helps them apply the insights gained in therapy to life goals, transitions, and personal development. This combination of therapy and coaching offers a comprehensive approach to achieving lasting growth and well-being.

Fees

Sessions are £150 (50 minutes)

Report writing and out of session clinical contact (not simply organisation of appointments) beyond

15 minutes is charged at £150 per hour or proportion of one hour in blocks of 15 minutes.

Group Sessions are £60 a week (2 hour group)

 

All assessments use psychometric measures to support clinical interview and observation.
